NHS Tayside Endpoint Refresh project

10,000 PC and Laptop rollout covering all locations in NHS Tayside using new and existing Endpoints. Project tasks included surveying all 151 sites, scheduled users and managed all areas of rollout from reimaging, refresh and floor walking.

NHS is a 24/7 operation and team worked around the clock to support customer needs and migrations at various times. Project also had laptop clinics for laptop users. Project Team created an automated scheduling system to allow users to book themselves in at time that suited them.

Responsible for all aspects of Delivery and Governance within a large Project Team based on site, quality assurance was a key deliverable and introduced new ways of working to allow testing to be performed in new Proof of Concept environment.

Key responsibilities:
  • To ensure correct start up and management of the project, to agreed procedures
  • To hold PDW, produce PID and agree project deliverables
  • To produce and own the Project Plan
  • To own, monitor and control progress against the project plan
  • To own and manage procurement requirements
  • To ensure that adequate resources are available to meet pre-agreed quality expectations, desired time scales and complete the project tasks whilst operating within the project budget
  • To interface and liaise between COMPUTECH, the customer and third parties
  • To manage additional value add and schedule 500 VIP users.
  • To ensure the operation and maintenance of quality and project control systems
  • To ensure the provision of regular progress reports to the project board or sponsor including the status of deliverables and documentation and resource usage
  • To ensure that project deliverables are achieved within the pre-agreed constraints of quality, time and cost
  • To manage delivery of infrastructure design and deployment
  • To manage delivery of application development and implementation
  • To ensure all required testing is defined, agreed and implemented
  • To produce exit documentation and manage handover and closure
